🔥 When the Mountains Burn: A Call to Action from the Northern Rockies Trail Project

There’s a particular kind of heartbreak that comes with watching a beloved place burn.

For those of us who live, work, and play in North Idaho, the updates from the Lightning Creek Fire hit hard. We know these ridgelines. We’ve walked those drainages. We've cleared deadfall, picked huckleberries, cast lines into those lakes, and gathered around trailheads to start days that would become lifelong memories.

And right now, we can’t do anything but watch.

That helplessness—the ache of knowing a place you love is in danger and being unable to stop it—is exactly the feeling that sparked the Northern Rockies Trail Project (NRTP).
