🌲 Why We Exist

The Northern Rockies Trail Project was born from the belief that our public lands deserve more—
→ More collaboration
→ More stewardship
→ More people working together, not apart

Yes, we are trail builders. But we’re also listeners, teachers, and partners—invested not only in the trails themselves, but in the land, water, wildlife, and people that define our region.

We don’t stop fire. That’s not our role.
What we do is help landscapes recover—and help people stay connected to the places they love, even after fire, flood, or neglect.

We’re not an agency. We’re not a club. We are a coalition: loggers and trail runners, snowmobilers and biologists, dirt bikers and conservationists, working together to find common ground on common trails.
